Our rugs are predominantly made in Turkey and India, where we work closely with skilled artisans and manufacturers. We travel every year to meet our partners in person, ensuring we maintain trusting relationships and high-quality craftsmanship.

Many of the manufacturers we work with are also family businesses—just like us—which has been incredibly rewarding as we’ve grown alongside the next generation in the rug industry.

The right size rug depends on the layout of your room and furniture (as well as personal taste)! But here are some of our quick guidelines:

Living Room: Ideally, the front legs of your couch should sit on the rug and you should have at least a foot of natural floor surrounding the rug and furniture.

For larger spaces, a bigger rug can fully anchor the living area. It's all about proportions but, generally, if all your furniture is touching the rug a little bit, you've done it right!

Dining Room: The rug should extend at least 60cm beyond the table on all sides to accommodate chairs comfortably.

Bedroom: A rug should extend at least 50-60cm beyond the sides of the bed for a balanced look, especially when we have bedside tables.

You also want your rug to sit around two thirds into your bed - this way you land on rug when getting out of bed (your bedside tables won't be sitting on your rug) and you still have rug at the base of the bed for the aesthetics.

For busy households, kids or pets we recommend wool or polyester rugs, as they are the most durable and easiest to maintain.

Wool is naturally more resistant to staining and ages beautifully, giving you a rug that should last many years to come. While polyester or acrylic are easy to clean and don't require special treatment and often have a much friendlier price tag.

Yes, we recommend this! Most of our clients have at least the front legs of their couch sit on the rug or, up to, half of the couch. This helps anchor down the rug but it also makes a room look more complete.

Having said that, if you are in a smaller room or you just really like the look, it is perfectly fine to get a smaller rug that sits in the middle of the room. Our only advice would be to be careful of slipping or trip hazards, especially if we have children or elderly people in the home - in which case, consider getting a rug underlay to help position the rug.

For those who want a more expansive look, especially in larger living rooms, you can place the entire couch on the rug—but we think this works best with bigger spaces and rug sizes (e.g. 270x360cm or 300x400cm).
